+What is the card?
The free prescription discount card lets you save up to 75% at over 60,000 pharmacies across the country. It comes pre-activated, so all you have to do is show it to your pharmacist.
+I already have insurance, how will the card help me?
Because most policies don't always cover all medications, the card can help fill in gaps in coverage. Most FDA-approved medications, whether brand name or generic, will be eligible for savings. Even some pet medications will be discounted. Sometimes, the card discount is even cheaper than insurance co-pays.
+Why are the discounts so significant?
The significant discounts are made possible through partnerships with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) who administer prescription claims. They represent millions of people purchasing similar prescriptions. So, they are able to negotiate great discounts that, in turn, can be offered to you.
+Will I need to show the card every time I pick up medication?
+When does the card expire?
It doesn't! You can use the card as much as you want, for as long as you want.
+Do I need a separate card for each family member?
You don't need to get separate cards unless you want to. You can use the same card for everyone in your family – even pets!
+Is this card really free?
Yes, the card is 100% free!
+What do I need to qualify?
Nothing! Everyone qualifies, and there is no paperwork to fill out. Whether you have insurance or not, the card is available to you – for free, right away! No income qualifications, no waiting for your card.
+Is this an insurance plan?
No, it's a discount plan. When you use this card, you pay for the prescription at that time.
+How much paperwork is involved?
None! You don't have to fill out one single form!
+Will my Personal Health Information be protected?
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is strictly followed.
+What types of discounts should I expect?
Using the Prescription Discount Card can save you up to 75% on brand name and generic prescriptions. Discounts will vary. The Drug Price Lookup tool keeps track of all the latest discounted prices of medications at participating pharmacies. You can use this tool to find the lowest discounts on your medications at a pharmacy near you!
+Will my local pharmacy allow me to use the card?
Our card is accepted almost everywhere—over 60,000 pharmacies nationwide. Use the Pharmacy Lookup tool to find the closest pharmacy to you.
+I have insurance already, how does the card work with my plan?
Although the card can’t reduce co-pays or discounted prescription prices provided by your plan, it does provide savings on medications your plan doesn't cover. Usually, the card will result in medication prices that are lower than your co-pay. Always have the pharmacist check the prescription price with your insurance card and the prescription discount card, to see which is lower.
+I have Medicare, will the card work with my plan?
The card may help you by providing discounts if you've already reached the Medicare "donut hole.” However, purchases made with the card may not count towards your deductible or help you to get out of the "donut hole.” Contact your Medicare plan representative for details.
+My pets take medications; will the card work for them?
Yes! The card can get you discounts if your pets are on medications that are also used for human illnesses. It won't work for flea protection and other non-human medications, though.
+What about health care supplies?
The card will also provide discounts on certain medical products, like diabetic supplies. Just make sure you have a signed prescription from your doctor.
+I got my card, how do I use it?
Your card came pre-activated, so all you have to do is take it with you to the pharmacy and present it when buying your medication. Your pharmacist should know what to do, but if they have any questions or problems, they can call 1-844-377-3543.
Once you use your card, your information will be stored in the pharmacy's system, so you shouldn't have to present it every time. Anything you buy in the future should be automatically calculated at the discounted rate. However, it’s a good idea to remind your pharmacist to use your prescription discount card on file, just in case. You will only receive discounts on medications within participating pharmacies, and the program doesn't guarantee service or the quality of service provided.
+My pharmacist doesn’t know how to use the card. What should I do?
Don't worry! Have them call 1-844-377-3543 for a simple walkthrough on how to process the claim using your card. This number will be listed on your card as "Pharmacy Helpdesk".
+Can I use my card at more than one pharmacy?
Absolutely. You can use your card anywhere you like, as long as they are a participating pharmacy.
+I don’t have a printer! Should I just get my card by mail?
You don't have to! Just write down the numbers for these four codes that you see on your computer screen and present them to your pharmacist: Member ID#, RXBIN, RXPCN, RXGRP. That’s all you need to start saving today!
